enjoying a good sing The next concert to be given
by the Allegri
Singers under their new conductor Tom Bullard will feature
some part-song and jazz favourites including the hushed tones of Stanford's
'The Blue Bird' and Sullivan's 'The Long Day Closes', and the stirring
sounds of 'Deep River' and 'By and By'. There will be some less-known
numbers such as Eric Thiman's setting of 'Go Lovely Rose', and an amusing
setting of 'There was an Old Man in a Tree'. We hope you will also enjoy
our versions of modern classics such as 'A Nightingale Sang in Berkley
Square' and the combined Beatles' numbers 'Blackbird' and 'I will'.
